Boot Camp - Major Balczo and the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at Carson Elementary are spending this week at Boot Camp preparing for the upcoming Ohio Achievement Assesment. The students will spend time getting in physical and academic shape.

District to Receive $34,000 Rebate

At the May 14 school board meeting, Jeff Vandine of American Electric Power will present school officials with a check for $34,887. It’s a rebate for installing energy efficient lighting, kitchen appliances and heating and cooling equipment at John Clem and Ben Franklin elementary schools.

NHS Choir Concert May 18

Tickets are now on sale for the May 18 Newark High School Spring Concert taking center stage at the Midland Theatre. Tickets are $10 and are available by calling the Midland box office at 740-345 LIVE.

Softball Camp Begins May 21

Calling all girls in grades 4-8 for softball camp. This year’s camp is set for 6-8 p.m. May 21-24 at Newark High School.
